Blairmore & Strone Golf Club
Blairmore & Strone Golf Club
Blairmore & Strone Golf Club is a friendly nine-hole course on the hillside above the villages of Blairmore and Strone, on the shore of Loch Long a few miles north of Dunoon. The course was laid out in 1896 by James Braid, who went on to win the Open Championship five times.
It is a hilly parkland course with some of the best views on the Cowal Peninsula, looking out over Loch Long, the Holy Loch and the Firth of Clyde towards Gourock and Greenock.
Visitors are welcome, with day tickets at £15 and club hire available. The club has a clubhouse with lockers and runs weekly competitions for members. New members are always welcome, with full, country, school-age and apprentice or student memberships. See the club's Facebook page for current prices, offers and competition results.
