Colintraive - Rhubodach Ferry
Colintraive - Rhubodach Ferry
The Colintraive to Rhubodach ferry is a short CalMac crossing at the narrowest point of the Kyles of Bute, linking the village of Colintraive on the Cowal mainland with Rhubodach on the Isle of Bute - one of the shortest and most scenic ferry hops in Scotland.
Colintraive itself, around 15 miles from Dunoon, is a quiet Cowal village with a bowling green and lovely views over the Kyles, and the ferry crossing point is a popular photo stop as well as a genuinely useful route on to Bute.
It's a nice example of how easily this stretch of Argyll connects land and sea, and makes a good turnaround point for a scenic drive from Dunoon.
