Crossroads Young Carers Cowal & Bute
Crossroads Young Carers Cowal & Bute supports young carers aged 5 to 24 throughout Cowal and Bute. The service is run by Crossroads Cowal & Bute, the local carers’ charity based on Argyll Street in Dunoon.
Support includes school drop-ins and one-to-one sessions, after-school programmes for primary and secondary young carers, Young Carers Statements and Young Carers Education Cards, advocacy, information and signposting, holiday activities chosen by the young carers themselves, and regular groups for young adult carers.
Young carers need to be registered to take part. Referrals can come from a parent, a young person aged over 16, or education, social work or health staff with the family’s permission.
