Studio Cinema Dunoon
Studio Cinema is Dunoon's much-loved independent picture house on John Street, run by West Coast Cinemas as part of a small family of local cinemas. It has been showing films in the town since the early 1970s and today operates as a fully digital, two-screen venue open seven days a week.
The larger screen seats around 158 people and the smaller one 54, and both were fitted with new screens and modern sound systems during a 2019 refit, with further upgrades to the smaller screen in 2023. Alongside the latest releases, the cinema live-streams theatre, opera and ballet, and hosts a regular Kids Saturday Club.
It's also home to the annual Dunoon Film Festival, and the building has disabled access and baby-changing facilities, making it a genuinely local, all-ages entertainment spot in the town centre.
