Puck's Glen

Puck's Glen

Puck's Glen is one of Cowal's best-loved short walks, a magical Victorian-built path that winds up a steep, wooded gorge near Benmore, passing a series of waterfalls under towering Douglas firs. Local legend has it that the Ghillie Dhu and other mythical characters lurk among the trees.

The main gorge trail is a Grade 1 walk of around 2.5-2.8km, taking roughly an hour to an hour and a half, starting from the Puck's Glen car park just off the A815 near Benmore Botanic Garden.

Please note: at the time of writing the main gorge trail is closed for public safety following storm damage from Storm Eowyn and subsequent storms, though a circular route linking the car park with Benmore and the wider forest remains open - check the Forestry and Land Scotland website before visiting.
