Shearwater Marine Services
Shearwater Marine Services is a diving and marine engineering contractor based at Sandbank Business Park on the Cowal Peninsula. Founded in 1992 by Alastair Baird and Tom Brannan, the company provides a comprehensive range of solutions above and below the waterline for private and public sector clients across the UK.
Subsea, the team covers marine civil engineering, construction and repair, defence in-water engineering support, specialist survey and inspection, and support for offshore renewables. On the surface, services include dive technicians and plant maintenance, fabrication and welding, marine engineering support, and research and development.
Shearwater owns and operates seven multifunctional workboats, each fitted with full surface-supplied diving systems, and has been lead diving contractor for CalMac Ferries since 2016. The company holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 accreditation and is a Real Living Wage employer.
